 Import XMLTV File

Notes:
  • A Wi-Fi connection is required to import.
  • A large XMLTV file will take longer to import and can also affect the navigation speed of the TV grid. It's best to pare down your XMLTV file to include only the channels that you are most interested in viewing.
  • It's important to make sure that:
    1. Both your iPhone/iPod touch and your desktop computer are connected to the same main Wi-Fi network (not the guest network).
    2. Your Wi-Fi router options are set to allow clients on your Wi-Fi network to communicate with each other.
    3. Your firewall (for example, Windows firewall or Norton firewall) or other software is not blocking access to the port in the URL listed in the XMLTV import window in the app. In most cases, this will be port 8888, but the port may vary depending on your computer configuration.
To import an XMLTV file, do the following:
  1. Select "Import XMLTV Data" from the Menu. Keep this import window open.
  2. Enter the URL listed in the import window into a web browser on your computer and upload your XMLTV file (uncompressed .xml file). Wait for the upload to finish.
  3. In the import window on your device, a status bar will show you the progress of the import.
  4. Once the import has finished, the XMLTV data will be displayed in the TV grid.
Navigation

Use the Date/Time and Category buttons at the top of the screen to navigate the TV grid and display shows by category.

To scroll by channel, swipe vertically.

To scroll by time, tap the right or leftmost hour headings.

Show Info

Tap on a show to view detailed information about the show. To view upcoming episodes, tap on the link at the bottom of the Show Info window.

Search

To search for a show by title, tap the search icon at the upper left corner of the TV grid.

Settings

Lock Orientation When on, the screen orientation will be locked in its current orientation.
Primetime Set the starting hour for primetime in your region.
Default Time Set the default time displayed each time you run the app.
Portrait Mode Set the number of hours displayed in the grid in portrait mode.
Fit Channel When on, longer channel names will be drawn with smaller fonts in order to fit the entire channel name. However, extremely long channel names may still not fit because there is a minimum font size. When off, all channel names will be drawn in the same font size, and channel names that do not fit will be shortened.
Sort Channels When on, channels will be sorted. This will take effect the next time XMLTV data is imported.
New Show Color Set the text color for new shows.
Category Colors Set the background color for each show category.
